The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is effective as of 25th May 2018. The regulation raises the bar for how companies and individuals can use and process personal data. GDPR impacts everyone doing business in the EU.

Chec has always been committed to following the world’s highest standards for data privacy and we’re equally committed to GDPR compliance. We also realize that merchants need tools so they too can comply with these new regulations.

FAQ

What do I do if I have more questions about the GDPR or my local privacy
laws?

Contact a local lawyer who specializes in privacy or data protection law.

Who can I contact for more information on Chec’s practices?

Contact privacy@chec.io (please include your merchant ID in the subject line)

If I use Chec to host my store, does my business comply with GDPR?

Not automatically. While Chec’s operations will comply with the GDPR, and Chec will provide tools to help its merchants comply, it is the responsibility of each merchant to ensure that its business is compliant with the laws of the jurisdiction in which it operates.

Using Chec’s platform alone does not guarantee that a company complies with the GDPR.
